OnlyFuego runs an interview lending program. We lend professional clothing free to people heading into job interviews who don't have the right thing to wear. A well-made suit is the backbone of that closet, and the ones that come from a long career are often the best made.
Before you pack
Keep a small capsule: one good suit or dress, one blazer, one pair of dress shoes. That covers weddings and occasions.
Check for moths: hold wool up to the light and look along the collar and cuffs for small holes.
Include the accessories: ties, belts, dress shoes, and work bags round out an interview outfit.
A career's worth of suits, not a pound's worth
Most donated clothing ends up sorted, baled, and sold by the pound, and the scale doesn't know the difference between a cashmere coat and a worn-out T-shirt. That's fine for everyday clothes. It isn't fine for the suits you wore to the most important meetings of your working life.
We do it differently. We take the pieces that deserve better, one at a time. Each one is listed by name on your receipt, cared for, and put back to work being worn: lent to someone heading into a job interview, to an honoree on their big night, or rented for a charity event. We try to preserve the integrity of the clothes and of the people who wore them.

Worn-out everyday clothing, logo uniforms and branded company gear, and anything stained or damaged. A local thrift store is the right place for everyday pieces.

Which work clothes do you want?
Suits, blazers and sport coats, dress pants and skirts, professional dresses, knitwear, dress shoes, and good work bags, in clean, wearable condition. Designer and well-made labels are especially useful.
Should I keep anything?
Most people keep one good suit or dress for weddings and occasions, and one blazer. Beyond that, it's worth asking whether you'll wear it in the next year.
Is it tax-deductible?
Yes. We're a 501(c)(3) and send an itemized receipt within 5 to 7 business days after your clothes arrive.
