Designer pieces deserve better than a pound price
Most donated clothing ends up sorted, baled, and sold by the pound, and the scale doesn't know the difference between a cashmere coat and a worn-out T-shirt. That's fine for everyday clothes. It isn't fine for a gown, a designer coat, or a handbag someone took care of for years.
We do it differently. We take the pieces that deserve better, one at a time. Each one is listed by name on your receipt, cared for, and put back to work being worn: lent to someone heading into a job interview, to an honoree on their big night, or rented for a charity event. We try to preserve the integrity of the clothes and of the people who wore them.

What we take, and what we don't
Yes, please
Designer and well-made clothing, evening wear, suits, coats, fur and shearling, designer handbags, fine shoes, and vintage in good condition.
Please take these elsewhere
Everyday basics, fast fashion, and anything stained, torn, or worn thin. A local thrift store is the right home for those, and we'd rather say so up front than take clothes we can't use.
Questions people ask
How is the value of donated clothing decided?
By you, the donor, at fair market value: what a willing buyer would pay for that piece in its current condition. Recent sold listings for the same label and item are the best evidence. This estimator gives a starting range, not a valuation.
What's the deadline for a 2026 deduction?
The gift has to be made by December 31, 2026. Don't cut it close: request your prepaid mailer by December 1 and ship by mid-December.
When do I need Form 8283 or an appraisal?
Form 8283 applies when your total noncash gifts for the year are over $500. A qualified appraisal from an independent appraiser is required for any item or group of similar items valued over $5,000.
Does OnlyFuego appraise my clothing?
No. The charity receiving a gift can't serve as its appraiser. We send an itemized receipt listing every piece.
