Why give with OnlyFuego

Your clothing does real good, three ways.

💛

Rented for events through FashionablyGood, with the profits going to community causes.

🤝

🌟

Celebrates honorees

Lent to community award honorees for the night they're recognized.

We're a 501(c)(3), so your gift is tax-deductible and we'll send a receipt, but the real reason to give is the good it does.

Can You Get a Tax Deduction for Donating Coats?

Yes. Coats, jackets, and outerwear donated to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit are tax-deductible at fair market value. A Max Mara coat in good shape can mean an $800+ deduction.

OnlyFuego accepts luxury and designer outerwear. Donated coats get rented for winter events (net profits fund the charities on our Honor Roll) or lent free to job seekers and community honorees.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can I deduct for donating a coat?

You deduct fair market value: the price a buyer would pay for it today, not the original retail price. The value ranges on this page show typical amounts by brand and condition.

Do I need a receipt or appraisal to claim the deduction?

For donations under $500, our itemized receipt is enough. Over $500, you also file IRS Form 8283 with your return. Items valued over $5,000 require a qualified appraisal.

Can I mail my coat from any state?

Yes. We accept mail-in donations from anywhere in the US. Once your package arrives, we send an itemized 501(c)(3) tax receipt within 5-7 business days.

What condition does the coat need to be in?

Clean, with working zippers and buttons. Wool, down, and designer coats in good condition are especially valuable.
